Our Services

Jodi Fischer provides current and innovative ways of conducting Clinical Assessments and Continuing Education in Vancouver and across Canada.

Practice areas include brain injury, orthopedic injuries, chronic pain, PTSD and related psychological conditions, and aging care.

Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)

  • A full day or multi-day testing protocol focusing on work tolerance and a durable return to work.

  • Overall competitive employability is addressed and return to jobs relevant to the individual’s work history.

  • Next step recommendations are provided to maintain/improve work-related function.

Cost of Future Care Evaluation (CFC)

  • For individuals with permanent, functionally limiting chronic health conditions.

  • Testing determines functional status and areas where items and assistance is required.

  • Categories considered include: treatment and health maintenance, equipment and adaptive aids, home support services (e.g. housekeeping), and future surgeries. Some individuals have a few areas of need and others have many.

Life Care Plan (LCP)

  • A more extensive CFC report designed for individuals with complex and changing needs throughout their lifespan.

  • Functional assessment, as well as interviews with family and treatment providers are often conducted.

  • The report serves as a blueprint for the future to promote maintenance and stability of the individual’s condition.

Cognitive Functional Capacity Evaluation (CogFCE)

  • Multi-day testing protocol that is an extension of the Standard FCE but also includes functional cognitive testing to assess impact on work and daily functioning.

  • Typically required for individuals who have sustained a traumatic brain injury but also for a variety of medical conditions where cognitive function can be impacted.

Functional Assessment for PTSD and Related Conditions

  • For individuals with mental health conditions that have disrupted function.

  • Use of assessment methods informed by the peer-reviewed literature on trauma.

  • Identifies how daily routines and participation in meaningful activity has been impacted, and those supports and services required.

Training and Education for Clinics and Practicing Clinicians

  • Clinics or individual clinicians are taught evidence-based tests and protocols for their practice. Workshops are planned to meet specific educational needs.

  • Consultation re: challenging clinical issues.

  • Education on effective court testimony or case specific court preparation.

  • Review of business practice from referral intake to report delivery to maximize efficiency.
